Extico cares for fresh produce from farm to destination, in four steps: growing, after harvest, buildings and systems, and in transit. We began in 2013, with our group's export orchids.
Why our work matters
Food lost
before it reaches a shop
FAO, the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, counts the food lost after harvest — on the farm, in transport, storage, wholesale and processing — before it reaches retail. That is exactly where our work sits.

Milestones and work

- 1979
Sun International Flower, our group company, starts exporting Thai orchids
- 2013
Begins its freshness work on Sun International Flower's export orchids: keeping the flowers fresh, a packing house, temperature on the way, customs clearance and phytosanitary certificates
- 2014
First contracting job: a two-storey, 1,100 m² orchid packing house for Sun International Flower, our group company
- 2016
Sun International Flower starts regular orchid shipments to customers in Ho Chi Minh City, some consolidated with other exporters' goods
- 2017
Dr.Sprouts & Microgreens begins, microgreens from a closed plant factory
- 2018
Starts taking construction, interiors and building-systems work for outside clients
- 2022
Builds the company's own cold rooms: two rooms, 130 m² in all, set from 0 to 15 °C
- 2022
Opens Sun Hwa Trading Ltd., our subsidiary in Taiwan, and starts door-to-door shipments from Bangkok to Taiwan, beginning with flowers
- 2023
Designs and builds automated lines, such as a seaweed-sheet feeder for a packer at 120 sheets a minute and an automatic stamp-pasting line
- 2025
FreshTrap begins: 1-MCP sachets synthesised in Thailand by CHON Chemical, our group company
- 2025
Runs 124 door-to-door loads from Thailand to Hanoi via the Mukdahan border, and 48 from Bangkok to Taiwan
